Safe in Sound Excellence in Hearing Loss Prevention Award Deadline Approaching
Nominations for the annual Safe-in-Sound Excellence in Hearing Loss Prevention Awards are now being accepted.  The awards are co-sponsored by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), the National Hearing Conservation Association (NHCA), and the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC).
 
The Safe-in-Sound Award is presented annually to organizations and individuals who demonstrate the benefits of developing or following good hearing loss prevention practices. Applicants are evaluated against key performance indicators in a review process designed to evaluate hearing loss prevention programs in the workplace.
 
There are two deadlines for nominations. 
  • June 8, 2024: Deadline for nominating another individual, group, or company
  • August 19, 2024: Deadline for self-nominations.
Winners will be invited to receive their award and present their award-winning stories at the annual National Hearing Conservation Association Conference on February 6-8, 2025, in Charleston, SC.

NHCA will be holding a Town Hall Meeting on June 11. In addition to discussing our upcoming By-Laws vote and other happenings at NHCA, this is your opportunity to directly interface with your NHCA leadership and ask questions, provide feedback, and propose ideas. While we may not be able to accommodate every idea, all ideas will be considered.

Every two months, NHCA experts contribute a short article to the IHW Magazine. The latest issue included the NHCA article titled "A Good dBA TWA Makes Your Day!" by Marjorie Grantham (Industrial Hygiene, Current issue), May/June issue, page 28).
